How We Operate

Any TMU student facing any level of food insecurity (the inability to obtain food that meets your dietary needs) can use our services. Still, you must register with us as a member first.

To register as a member, you must attend an intake appointment, which you can book here: GFC Intake Appointments. Or you can come by our space in person to schedule one.

Once you’re a member, you get a certain amount of “points” to spend each week on our food and supplies. Please note that the first day of every week we open is always super busy, and we can only fit so many people in the space at a time.

Hours of Operation

Tuesday

2:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Wednesday

Thursday

Local Food Banks

The Good Food Centre is a proud partner organization of the Daily Bread Food Bank. A large portion of the food we are able to give to students is received from the Daily Bread Food Bank as part of their Member Agency program.

If you are looking for other food banks in our area, check out this list.

Food Access Project (TBD)

The Food Access forms were developed in response to the rising levels of food insecurity that have been observed in the past year(s). This document contains information regarding food banks, community dining, grocery store programs, and other food-related aids to help TMU students and alumni locate resources in the city of Toronto.

Get Involved with the GFC!

The GFC is powered by our amazing volunteer team. If you are passionate about food security and being active in your community, we’d love to have you join our team!

Email foodcentre@yourtmsu.ca to learn more about the program and to sign up. There are also other volunteer opportunities on the TMSU Volunteer Program page.

Attend Our Events

We run events throughout the year to raise awareness about food security and other important issues for students. Follow us on Instagram to stay up to date on all of our events and programs: @gfc.tmsu
