  • Our mission is to empower students and build community on TMU’s campus by advocating for your rights, supporting student groups, events and initiatives, and providing discounted services to save you money!

Our Services

  • CopyRITE Printing Service is the only student owned and operated full service copy, print, and communications centre at TMU. CopyRITE’s high quality products and competitive prices have made digital printing convenient and affordable for students. As one of the cost-saving services of the TMSU, we work to keep our prices low and prioritize student employment to operate our services throughout the year.

Visit copyrite.ca for prices and more info.

  • You have access to a lawyer who can advise and assist you with virtually any legal problem, at no cost. The lawyer is on campus twice a week and sees students during half-hour appointments in the TMSU office.

Our legal services can help you with family and criminal law, debt issues, landlord and tenant conflicts, corporate law, real estate, intellectual property issues, immigration and problems with government agencies.

  • The TMSU runs a free tax clinic for Ryerson Students. Appointments are limited, therefore, it is given on a first come, first serve basis.
The tax clinic is open to all TMU students in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGAO). A team of trained student volunteers will help prepare your tax return and file it to the CRA on your behalf.

If you are interested in volunteering, visit our Get Involved page.

  • The TMSU offers a comprehensive health and dental plan to students who do not have coverage from elsewhere. If you haven’t opted-out before and want to opt-out, you must do so before October.

Learn more about the Health and Dental Plan, including opting-out, on the Health and Dental Page.

  • When you want academic advice or need to appeal grades or standing, or findings of academic misconduct, or other issues with the University, the TMSU is here to help! The Student Issues and Advocacy Coordinator can guide you through the university’s policies and procedures and works to protect your rights.
