We are writing to update you regarding the TMSU Election and Referenda Committee (ERC)’s Recent Decision
The TMSU By-Elections are happening now. Since March 2023 the TMSU Elections and Referenda Committee (ERC) passed a special decision on Election Integrity to combat and maintain the integrity of TMSU General Elections. An interim board was appointed to executive and faculty director positions to continue the operational activity at the TMSU.
It is vital that the TMSU Elections are conducted with fairness, transparency and uphold democratic values of integrity in this upcoming by-election. According to our elections and procedure code, the TMSU will be allowing The Eyeopener to be the main host for the All Candidates Forum Discussion on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 5:30pm-9:30pm.
The All Candidates Forum Discussion allows candidates to share their views and platform to TMSU Members. Members can submit questions and watch their elected candidates answer their most pressing questions and concerns.
The Eyeopener is the TMU (Formerly Ryerson) independent student newspaper since 1967. A Non-profit organization owned by TMU Students. We believe that The Eyeopener will act as a non-partisan body and voice for TMSU members and accurately share our common values of fairness and integrity in this coming by-election.
