Fall Reading Week

Following lobbying from the students’ union, TMU was one of the first universities to implement a Fall Reading Week for most students. Engineering students unfortunately are unable to get a Fall Reading Week due to the requirements the PEO requires for Engineering programs to meet to remain accredited.

Students advocated for this change because of the mental health benefits of having a break in the middle of the semester. It enables students times to rest and recover before heading into midterms and finals. The students’ union was proud to be part of the push to establish this important break for students, and hopes there will be a way to extend this break to engineering students in the future as well.
