2026 Annual General Meeting: Report Back
Thank you to everyone who made it to the 2026 Annual General Meeting on April 9! We appreciate all of the members who attended, especially in the middle of exam season.
Since we didn’t reach our General Meeting quorum, planned motions were not taken to a vote. Nevertheless, we shared operational updates, and members took the opportunity to ask questions and meet the TMSU Board of Directors and staff in-person.
ICYMI:
We shared an update from TMSU’s Auditor, BDO, regarding the annual financial audit for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, and confirmed their engagement for the upcoming 2025-26 audit. The motion to appoint BDO for the 2026-27 audit will be brought forward again at the Fall Semi-Annual General Meeting.
Our legal team shared updates on the independent investigation and the lawsuit that TMSU filed last month against numerous individuals and a major vendor. We first announced the lawsuit on March 7; click here to read the statement in full.
We are also sharing a copy of our Statement of Claim. This is the legal document that initiated our civil lawsuit with the courts. The Statement is now accessible at the link below and will be made available soon under the Transparency section of yourtmsu.ca/policy.
