My name is Vinayak Mathur, and I’m running for VP Student Life & Events because I genuinely care about building a stronger, more connected student community at TMU. Over the years, I’ve seen how much better campus life feels when students feel included, supported, and excited to be here, and I want to help create more of those moments.
Student life isn’t just about planning big events. It’s about making sure every student, whether they’re a commuter, international student, or in their final year, feels like there’s something on campus for them. I’ve worked with student groups and helped organize events before, and the biggest thing I’ve learned is that people just want spaces where they can meet others, feel welcomed, and enjoy being part of TMU.
If elected, my goal is to make events more inclusive, improve support for clubs and student groups, and create more opportunities for students to connect outside the classroom. I want to be someone who listens, who shows up, and who helps turn student ideas into real experiences.
At the end of the day, I’m running because I want TMU to feel like a true community, not just a campus you pass through, but a place you belong.
