UPDATE: TMSU Campus Groups Service

September 21, 2026 — Toronto Metropolitan Students’ Union (TMSU) has been made aware of concerns raised by Campus Groups and Course Unions regarding delays in receiving responses to inquiries, funding approvals, office allocation, reimbursements and other administrative support.

We understand how important access to funding and timely communication are for student organizations, especially as groups are working hard to plan their events, programming and initiatives for the new academic year.

Our Campus Groups Coordinator, who is the primary staff member responsible for supporting more than 200+ Campus Groups and Course Unions, unexpectedly had to take an urgent leave of absence last week. As a result, Campus Groups services have been experiencing operational delays, and response and processing times may be longer than usual.

We recognize the frustration these delays have caused and sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our student leaders during this period.

TMSU is working to ensure outstanding Campus Groups inquiries, funding requests, office allocations and reimbursements are addressed as soon as possible while we navigate this temporary staffing situation. Our team is actively reviewing how we can provide additional support and minimize disruptions to Campus Groups and Course Union leaders.

Starting Monday, September 21st, please CC Interim VP Student Life Ahmmad Haidary (email: ahmmad.haidary@yourtmsu.ca) on all outstanding and new inquiries sent to the Campus Groups Coordinator. He will review all concerns as soon as possible.

We ask for your continued patience as we work through the current backlog and respond to requests as quickly as possible.
