My name is Shoaib Sheriff, and I’m a Computer Science major running to be the Faculty Director of Science at TMSU. I’m passionate about strengthening the connection between students and faculty, improving the academic experience, and ensuring that every science student feels informed, supported, and represented.
As a CS student, I’m used to solving problems through logic, collaboration, and creativity. I want to bring that same approach to the Faculty Director role—identifying issues that matter to students, gathering feedback from across all science programs, and working closely with faculty and the TMSU leadership to create meaningful change. Whether it’s improving communication about course expectations, advocating for better learning resources, or addressing concerns about labs, lectures, and workload, I will ensure that student voices are not only heard but acted on.
I’m running because I believe our faculty can be more accessible, transparent, and responsive. With the rapid growth of fields like technology, environmental science, biomedical innovation, and data-driven research, it’s more important than ever to build strong academic relationships and highlight opportunities that help students thrive.
