My name is Muhammad Shayan Obaid, a 3rd-year Marketing student, and I’m running for International Student Director because I genuinely want international students at TMU to feel seen, supported, and understood. Being an international student myself, I’ve experienced the confusion, stress, and homesickness that come with starting a new life in a new country, and I know how much it matters to have someone who listens and advocates for you. I want to help make things easier, whether that means clearer communication, better access to support, or more chances for us to connect through cultural events and community activities. With my background in marketing and student engagement, I’m confident that I can bring empathy, fresh ideas, and real dedication to this role. My goal is simple: to make sure every international student feels like they truly belong at TMU.
