Rohan Ramchandani (Team Forward)

My name is Rohan Ramchandani, and I am running for Vice-President Operations at the Toronto Metropolitan Students’ Union (TMSU) because I believe students deserve transparency, accountability, and a union that actively supports their ambitions.

Across campus, many students feel disconnected from how student fees are collected, managed, and allocated. The funds belong to students, and students have the right to know exactly where their money is going. If elected, I will work to make TMSU operations more open, accessible, and understandable for everyone. This includes publishing clearer breakdowns of fee spending, improving communication around financial decisions, and ensuring that students are involved meaningfully in the budgeting process.

I am also deeply committed to strengthening TMU’s diverse student clubs and communities. Clubs are where friendships form, leadership skills develop, and students find a sense of belonging. As VP Operations, I will push for more efficient funding processes, quicker response times, and a more supportive system that helps clubs grow rather than struggle through unnecessary barriers. My goal is to ensure that club leaders have the resources, training, and financial clarity they need to thrive.

Ultimately, I am running because I want TMSU to feel like a union that works for students—not over them. I will prioritize transparency, operational efficiency, and strong communication, so every student feels confident that their fees are being used responsibly and with purpose.

I hope to earn your trust and your vote, and I look forward to advocating for a more transparent, supportive, and student-centered TMSU.
