Omar Ahmed (Independent)

I’m a fifth-year Aerospace Engineering student at Toronto Metropolitan University, and I’m running for Director of Engineering because students deserve a union that actually feels like it’s on their side. Too many of us don’t fully understand our health and dental plans, where our fees go, or who to talk to when something goes wrong. I want to help change that. In this role, I will focus on making information clear and accessible, so you don’t have to dig through confusing documents just to figure out what you’re covered for or what services exist. I care about making sure commuters, international students, and anyone juggling work, classes, or family can easily access support without feeling ignored or brushed off. I believe in honest communication, listening before deciding, and following through on what’s promised. If elected, I’ll work to make TMSU more transparent, more approachable, and more focused on real student needs, not just paperwork and politics.
