Mohammad Aamir (Students Leading Tomorrow)

My name is Mohammad Moiz Aamir, and I am a second-year Business Management student majoring in Global Management Studies under the Ted Rogers School of Management. I am running for Vice President, Operations because I believe students deserve a union that is financially transparent, accountable, and actively working to support their academic and personal success. I want TMSU to operate with clarity, stability, and direction—while keeping students at the centre of every decision. One of my core priorities is ensuring that the TMSU’s finalized audits are completed, accessible, and properly communicated to students. Financial transparency is the foundation of trust, and students deserve clear information about where their money is going. As VP Operations, I will push to strengthen financial reporting, tighten oversight, and rebuild confidence in the union’s operations. A student union cannot function effectively without transparency, and I am committed to leading with openness and accountability. I also want to expand grant opportunities for students, especially for those who rely on financial support to participate fully in university life. Many students face barriers that prevent them from joining programs, conferences, or professional development activities. By improving the accessibility, clarity, and reach of grant programs, I hope to reduce those barriers and support students who want to grow academically, professionally, and creatively. Finally, I will work to increase funding for student groups and improve scholarship amounts across all faculties, especially for students who take on unpaid leadership roles. Clubs, course unions, and research opportunities enrich campus life, but too often, the students doing the work receive no recognition or financial support. My goal is to expand funding so that more students can lead, innovate, and contribute without facing financial strain.
