I’m a 3rd year Nursing Student, and after many conversations with folks like you, I’ve decided to fill this empty seat. It’s been empty for over a year, and that absence reflects how disconnected many of us feel from student life. As the Eyeopener reported, trust in student institutions has weakened and many students don’t know the Student Union exists, what it does, or that elections are happening. I’ve been in that position, and I want to help change it.
The TMSU can build your campus life, advocate for you, and provide you student-centred services — but that only works if students are actually engaged, heard, valued, and kept in the loop.
My #1 priority is simple: support a TMSU students trust because it works for them. When fire alarms get pulled to stop student voting it shows how fragile and concentrated our representation is and shouldn’t be. This value guides the rest of my campaign (see linktr.ee).
I support community and care-based engagement wherever I can — tutoring peers, mentoring youth, orientation week, and serving on the FCSS Culture & Wellness and Student Services committees.
This role is my next step in serving you impactfully, whether you’re new, deeply involved, or are close to graduating by:
• Bringing TMSU to students, not expecting students to chase it
• Clear, relevant, and consistent updates (meetings and accessible conversations) beyond social media.
• Supporting accountability measures through clear student-driven priorities and reports
• Making complex rules understandable and accessible.
If this approach resonates, I’d be grateful for your support — and even more grateful to hear from you and what we can build together. The more we keep in touch, the more we can build a union that reflects the best of who we are.
Connect however you prefer — I always make myself available.
