Hi, I’m Gyan Singh Kalra, a 4th-year Business Management student majoring in Entrepreneurship with a minor in Finance — and I’m running to be your next VP of Education at TMSU.
As the elected undergraduate representative on the TMU Board of Governors, I’ve seen how academic decisions are made — and I know students need stronger, faster, and fairer support. From printing costs to scholarship access, academic appeals to peer support, we deserve more than forms and promises — we need action.
I’ve built platforms like TutorMate, a free peer tutoring tool created by students, for students — and I’m ready to take that same action-driven mindset into office. As VP of Education, I’ll fight to:
Lower printing and academic service costs
Increase access to scholarships and academic resources
Advocate for student-friendly exam, deferral, and appeal policies
Build real-time support tools and peer academic networks
Push for inclusive classrooms and better prof accountability
I don’t believe in vague promises. I believe in solving real problems — and bringing students into the decisions that shape our education.
