Fayez Addas (Fusion)

I’m running for a position at the Toronto Metropolitan Students’ Union because students need leadership that actually understands how heavy life can get. A lot of us aren’t just attending classes,we’re working multiple jobs, supporting our families, covering tuition, and juggling responsibilities that don’t disappear when assignments pile up. I’m currently working three jobs while being a full-time student, and I know exactly how demanding and unforgiving that balance is.
Because of that, I don’t have a romanticized view of student life. I have a realistic one. I know what it feels like when you need support and can’t get answers. I know how frustrating slow responses, unclear processes, and avoidable obstacles can be. And I’m running because I’m tired of seeing students carrying heavy workloads while the systems meant to support them move at half-speed.
I’ve worked across high-pressure environments, sales, operations, HR, and customer-facing sectors, where expectations are high, problems need immediate solutions, and excuses don’t fly. Balancing that with three jobs and school has taught me discipline, urgency, conflict management, and accountability. That’s the same standard I want to bring into TMSU.
The union needs leaders who move quickly, communicate clearly, and don’t hesitate to challenge inefficiency. Students shouldn’t have to chase down help or wait endlessly for clarity. I want to push for faster responses, streamlined services, and a union that operates with the same intensity and responsibility that so many students already live with daily.
I’m not here for a title. I’m here because students deserve someone who understands pressure, speaks up without hesitation, and refuses to let issues get ignored.
If elected, expect a union that moves with purpose, not delay.
