My name is Sakina Haider, and I am a student in the Faculty of Science running for a position on the TMSU Board of Directors. I am running because I believe students deserve strong representation, transparency, and responsible leadership within our student union.
As science students, many of us manage demanding course loads, labs, and other academic responsibilities. It is important that the student union understands and represents the needs of students across different faculties, including those in science. I want to help ensure that student voices are heard when decisions are being made about services, funding, and advocacy.
If elected, I will focus on accountability, fairness, and accessibility. I believe that student leaders should listen to the concerns of their peers, communicate openly about decisions, and work to ensure that student resources are used in ways that benefit the broader student community. I am committed to approaching this role thoughtfully and working collaboratively with other board members to support students and strengthen the services provided by TMSU.
My goal is to help contribute to a student union that remains transparent, responsive, and focused on the needs of the students it represents. I would be honoured to have the opportunity to represent Faculty of Science students and contribute to decisions that support the student community.
