My name is Muhammad Vehra, and I am running for Vice President Equity because I believe every student deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their time at TMU.

As someone who has experienced different communities and perspectives, I understand how important it is for students to feel like they truly belong on campus. Equity means making sure that every student has access to the opportunities, resources, and support they need to succeed. This includes students from many different backgrounds and identities, including LGBTQ+ students, students with disabilities, international students, and many others who may face barriers during their time at university.

One issue that continues to affect many students is financial pressure. With rising living costs and recent changes to student funding, many students are struggling to balance academics with work and personal responsibilities. If elected, I want to advocate for stronger financial support systems such as better access to emergency grants, food security initiatives, and resources that help students focus on their education without unnecessary hardship.

I also believe transparency and open communication are essential. Students should understand how decisions are made and feel confident that their voices matter. My goal is to listen to students, work with campus groups, and help build a community where everyone feels supported and able to succeed.
