TMU Student Associations Tax Clinic: 2026

TMSU and TMAPS will be hosting a 2-week long TMU Student Associations Tax Clinic for our members. The in-person filing will be available for free for members of TMSU (full-time undergraduate students) and members of TMAPS (part-time undergraduate students)

This initiative helps students navigate tax season while also giving volunteers the opportunity to gain valuable training and experience.
This clinic is offered in collaboration with the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP).

Tax Clinic Details

Operation period: Tuesday, April 7 to Friday, April 17, 2026 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (no weekends)

Appointment booking: In-person booking is now closed.

Location : TMSU Office at SCC, 55 Gould St, third floor.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the TMSU & TMAPS tax clinic you must

  • Be a member of TMSU (full-time undergraduate students) OR member of TMAPS (part-time undergraduate students)
  • Have a simple tax return: this is for individuals that have no income or the sources of income are employment, pensions, benefits, RRSP’s support payments, scholarships, fellowships, bursaries or grants and interest (under $1,000)*

*We will not complete returns for individuals who:

  • Are self-employed or have employment expenses
  • Have business income and expenses (unless income is in box 048 on a T4A slip and less than $1,000 with no related expenses)
  • Have rental income and expenses
  • Have interest income over $1,000
  • Have capital gains or losses
  • Have a family or joint return

What to Bring to your Appointment?

  • Identification: Government ID
  • Personal information: Social Insurance number (SIN)
  • Income slips: T3, T4, T4A, etc.
  • Tuition slips : T2202
  • Last’s year notice of assessment (if applicable)
  • Receipts for rent, out of pocket medical expenses (if applicable)
